Glitz, Glitter & Fame: An Anthology-treat yourself this New Year’s Day Only .99 live on the 1st #newrelease #hollywoodromance

Between several releases over the last few months, the holidays, work, maintaining a newsletter, and trying to write new material, it seems I’ve neglected my blog.  Oops!  I have a story in this awesome anthology releasing tomorrow!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable, healthy Christmas and I wish everyone a Happy New Year.

This anthology features thirteen short stories about the Glitz, Glitter & Fame of Hollywood.  My story Only in Hollywood was so much fun and came so easy to me.  I am positive I will continue their story.

Blurb:

Billie Jo’s parents surprised her with a dream vacation during college break, a summer in Hollywood with her cousin.  Being mistaken as Cruz Noble’s hired stress relief wasn’t in her job description when she accepted the part-time assistant job at the studio her cousin works for.  Their first introduction was a horribly awkward misconception on his part, but Cruz not only wants to make it right, he wants Billie Jo.  With zero interest in movie stars and their larger than life existence, can Hollywood’s biggest star get the girl in real life?

Let’s see if an excerpt will interest you.

Billie Jo was thrilled beyond anything else in her life when her parents bought her a plane ticket to spend the summer with her cousin in Los Angeles before entering her senior year of college. She had never even been on a plane.

Billie Jo always envied her older cousin. Not only did Sarah get out of Alabama, but she managed to become a sought-after makeup artist to some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Though Billie Jo didn’t come out there to work, Sarah pulled some strings and got her a part-time position as an assistant, basically a go-for girl. Her mom wouldn’t be happy when she found out she took a job on her supposed dream vacation. She knew her mom and stepdad must have saved for months and wanted her to enjoy her summer before graduation, but she liked to stay busy.

They came in early so Sarah could set up, and since Billie Jo knew she shouldn’t enter any dressing rooms once the stars arrived unless requested, she went ahead to cross a few of her duties off her daily tasks. As she backed up and turned around to leave the room, she ran right smack into the big, tight chest of Cruz Noble. Stunned, embarrassed, and with her nose hurting, she didn’t move. Her nose still against his shirt, she breathed him in. He smelled fantastic.

“Little early in the day, aren’t we? Maybe that’s not a bad thing, try something different,” he spoke in a deep, toe-curling voice. How long she would continue to stand there, sniffing his chest, she didn’t know. Forever. Cupping her chin in his warm fingers, he tilted her head up, making her look into his sultry blue eyes. She trembled, imagining him gazing at her like that after a session of wild sex. “Aren’t you a cute li’l thing. I can think of several other places to put your face, darlin’.”

He grinned at her and her knees weakened. Lowering his hand from her face to her elbow, he guided her back into his room. So shaken over him finding her in his room, it barely registered that he had closed the door behind her. She stood in the middle of his dressing room… with him.

“Alright, babe, down on your knees,” he directed. She did as told. He stepped from beside her, walked around and stood in front of her, his hand clasped around his condom-covered cock. It happened so fast she didn’t have time to react. Tapping her lips with the tip, her mouth fell open.

“Cruz, here is the scene change… oh good lord. What the hell? Why didn’t you just leave her at your place?” A pretty woman entered the room with papers, which she held up in front of her face, shielding her eyes from the sight in front of her.

Billie Jo stayed as she was, Cruz’s dick resting on her lower lip. Their eyes met again, and she sucked in her breath, some shared understanding between them, which both terrified and thrilled her.

If this wasn’t awkward enough, Sarah rushed through the doorway in a panic and ran into the pretty woman.  Cruz’s assistant or agent Billie Jo guessed. “Kate, I can’t find… Billie Jo!” she hollered.

Cruz and Billie Jo tore their eyes away from each other to look at the two women who had interrupted their… what exactly did they interrupt? Sarah rushed to Billie Jo, grabbing her arm. “Get up… get up. Gee, you haven’t been in L.A. three days. How am I going to explain this?” she uttered.

Making no attempt to shield his exposed private parts, Cruz spoke in a controlled, nonchalant tone. “I’m thinking this is a misunderstanding of some type?”

Moving in front of Cruz, Kate responded, “Yes, Cruz. I do believe this is a huge misunderstanding.” Waving her hand downward, indicating he needed to put away his displayed member, she scolded him in a failed attempt to lower her voice. “If I was going to change your schedule, you would be the first to know.”

Leading Billie Jo from the room, Sarah led her back toward the set. “What was that? I can’t believe this. Mom promised me you wouldn’t be any trouble. This is bad…very, very bad.”

It may have looked very, very bad, but Billie Jo didn’t feel bad or ashamed. Which made absolutely no sense.

“What was that?” Sarah asked, pushing Billie Jo down the hallway.

A smile the size of the Grand Canyon plastered across her face, Billie Jo responded with the only answer that entered her mind. “I do believe I was about to give him a blowjob. Or do they call it something different out here in California?” She didn’t intend to come off bitchy, but she couldn’t make heads or tails out of what just happened either.

Guiding her into the women’s bathroom, Sarah spun Billie Jo to face her. “I think… I think…” She burst into a hysterical fit of laughter. Billie Jo joined. They stood there together and laughed for a solid five minutes. Each time one would start to say something, more hoots erupted between them. Swiping away the tears from under her eyes, Sarah tried again. “How the heck did that happen?”

Shrugging, Billie Jo gave her honest answer. “He found me in his dressing room. He told me to kneel, I did. I don’t know why. It felt right. Like it was the only option…as weird as that sounds. I didn’t know he pulled his… his… out, though, until it met my lips.”

Sarah’s body shook with her attempts to repress additional laughter. “Okay, let me get this straight. He didn’t ask who you were? He instructed you to get to your knees, and you did?” Sarah raised an eyebrow.

“I know. I know. It was something in his voice.”

“Um, no, it was something in… well… out of his pants,” Sarah giggled. “The countless number of females who would love to have been in that situation. If you think you can practice a l’il more self-control and refrain from having all the other stars in the film whip out their genitals in your presence, we need to get to work.” Swinging the door open, she left the bathroom, with Billie Jo on her heels.

“That’s not it. I’m not someone who gets all gaga over some star and certainly not to the point of casual sex. Or casual fellatio,” she giggled. “I mean Cruz is hot enough. Smoldering. He smells fantastic, too. But the way he sounded… the way he said it.”

Rounding a corner, Sarah quickened her pace. “Yeah, yeah. You’re lucky I don’t have to work on him today. I’m trying to build my client list, not dwindle it. A conversation with Cruz Noble about this morning would undoubtedly affect my quality of work,” she assured.

The more she thought about it, the more mortified Billie Jo became. The last thing she wanted was to cause trouble for her cousin. “I was instructed to check his fridge and restock before he got on set. He wasn’t supposed to find me in there. I hope I don’t see him any today… or ever.”

***

Kate slammed the door, then faced him, her cheeks the color of a tomato. “What the hell, Cruz? The studio is trying to woo Sarah to work for them exclusively, and you get a hold of her cousin on her first day…with your pants down.” She paced the room, her heels clicking across the tiled floor.

Plopping himself on the couch, Cruz wished some man would get hold of Kate and release at least some of that pent-up frustration. She worried too much, and he feared she might suffer a stroke or something before she turned forty. “My pants weren’t down, Kate.”

She huffed, “You know what I mean.”

“Last thing I heard from you about my lack of trustworthy females to burn off some sexual energy with was that you were sending someone over. A pretty little discreet thing, you mentioned. I thought she was it.”

Jutting out her chin, Kate’s head bobbed as she enunciated her words as if she were speaking to a child. “Nooo… I believe you know me better than to think I would send someone without confirming it with you first.”

His laugh echoed through the room. “Hey, she looked to be exactly what I requested. And then some.”

Throwing her hands in the air, Kate cautioned, “Cruz, she’s some college girl who’s never been out of Alabama. You probably scared the poor thing to death.” Then her mouth fell open and she gasped, “What if she decides to file a sexual harassment claim. Oh no! I can see it now all over social media.”

Running his fingers through his light brown signature locks, he chastised her. “That’s enough, Kate. Don’t forget I was born and raised in Mississippi. Trust me, that l’il hottie wasn’t frightened in the slightest.” He saw something in that sweet thing’s big green eyes he hadn’t seen in a long time. He saw confidence, understanding, and submission. Those three qualities in the perfect balance, complementing each other, were a rare treasure.

Kate’s hand shook when she reached out to hand him the notes on the scene change. It made him feel bad. Sure, she walked around with her nose in the air having everyone believe she was unfeeling and unflappable, but he knew better.

Though the day consisted of sitting down with the star bitch actress and reading lines, he didn’t want his mind trailing off concerned with Kate. “Kate, I’ll apologize to her. I’ll make it right,” he insisted. He knew dang well, though, that the beauty on her knees earlier didn’t want an apology. Her wants went a lot deeper than that. This day looked much brighter than when his alarm woke him ninety minutes earlier from a sound sleep.

Today’s Guest – Brandi Evans & Tempted #paranormalromance #contemporaryromance

The only thing standing between this fallen angel and redemption? The woman he loves.
20839838_1977218355890377_598668949_o

I am stoked to have Brandi with me today sharing her latest release.  If the cover alone isn’t enough to tweak your interest, check out the blurb and excerpt.  Plus, Brandi gives us a great character interview.

Blurb:

Eons ago, Seth fell for another angel–literally–and was cast down from the Heavens. Seeking redemption, he works for the Angels of Death, taking the lives of those destined to die, his only desire to return home. But everything changes when a beautiful brunette explodes into his life and plunges his ordered world into chaos, tempting him with something he hasn’t experienced in millennia. Love.

A busted radiator strands Lyndi Garrison on a deserted stretch of coastal Maine and shoves her directly into the path of a sexual predator. She fends off her attacker until an NFL-sized stranger appears from the darkness to help. She’s instantly enamored of her quiet hero, and before the evening ends, they share a devastating kiss and a knock-out round of sex unlike anything she’s ever known. Though she can’t help but wonder…

Has she finally received a second chance at happiness? Or is Fate being a bitch again?

Excerpt:

Seth didn’t know which was worse. Spending eternity in hell or working his way out of damnation by becoming a murderer.

Okay, in his defense, he technically wasn’t a murderer, at least not in the terms mortals used. He had, however, been responsible for the termination of more lives than he could count—all in the name of finding redemption. And no, the irony wasn’t lost on him, but at the moment, he didn’t have time to contemplate his penance.

He was on the clock.

Franklin Michaels jogged around the bend. Each footfall brought him closer and closer to Seth.

To death.

With the dropping temperatures, the coastal park in Redemption Harbor, Maine, was all but deserted. Seth was grateful for the privacy. Not because he feared his target might see him—the job was easier if Seth didn’t think of his victims by name—but because this termination necessitated solitude. The target had to die alone. No exceptions.

Why? Because his bosses, the Angels of Death, deemed it so.

Seth’s job wasn’t to question but to do. To fulfill his obligations without emotion and with as little deviation from the plan’s parameters as possible. Simple.

Ha! There was nothing fucking simple about carrying out a person’s death, even a scumbag like this one.

For reasons Seth didn’t understand, this asshole hadn’t been slated for termination two years ago when he’d had his first heart attack, with the coronary Seth would cause tonight being the second. No, fate had allowed him an additional two years of blessed breath. Time to see his daughter get married, to see his son welcome his own child into the world—to rape four more women.

He’d beaten one woman with such animalistic rage she’d    later succumbed to her injuries. Another had died by her own hand when she could no longer withstand the black void he’d punched into her soul.

Seth hovered toward the target. A lone spiritual “touch” was all it would take to send this bastard into a lethal episode of cardiac arrest and straight to hell where he belonged. Seth reached out and—

“Son of a bitch! I’m gonna set a blowtorch to your ass and turn you into a damn sculpture!”

Seth pulled back. Curiosity forced him to turn toward the very angry, very sultry female voice—a strikingly odd combination.

Just off the main road near the park entrance, a woman stood with her back to him, kicking the shit out of the tire of a tiny little hybrid car, white smoke billowing from its engine. Under the soft glow of the streetlight above her, she ran her fingers through long chestnut hair with a hint of auburn undertones, as if she’d spent much of the summer camped out on one of the nearby beaches. No pants protruded from the hem of her dark, calf-length jacket. The skin of those toned legs set off a creamy contrast to her coat—so okay, maybe no long hours spent on the beach.

His mind went wild. What did she wear beneath the jacket? A skirt or dress? What did it look like? Would the material cling to her body like a second skin? Or would it fit loose while still managing to show off her every curve?

Or maybe she wore nothing at all?

Concentrate, he scolded. You’re here on a job.

He turned to his mark, but he was gone.

Damn it. Seth opened his mind, searching out and instantly finding the target. Up the walk, he’d folded himself into the shadows, his dark arousal filling Seth’s being like onions wrapped in ripe gym socks. Beautiful-Potty-Mouth was exactly this animal’s type. A pretty little brunette who was all alone. The Guardian in Seth would be damned if he’d let the fiend hurt her. Not on his watch.

Yet even as the noble notion entered his mind, so did the warning against intervention. Death Code and Angelic Code both forbade intervention in the affairs of mortals, except by Divine Order. Seth had one purpose here tonight. To make sure his target died in the manner his bosses foresaw. No more. No less. To disregard the Code was to risk all hope of ever returning home.

To assure his banishment would indeed be for eternity.

Still, he moved toward his target. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what the other man was doing. Stalking. Dark anger welled up inside Seth’s chest. How was he supposed to sit back while this creep raped and maybe killed an innocent? If Seth killed the target now, before he made his move—

Beautiful-Potty-Mouth turned from the car. Toward Seth. And something happened, something he hadn’t experienced since he’d lost his wings.

His soul stirred.

Interview with a Fallen Angel:

Joining us on Character Chat today is Seth, fallen angel and hero from my Loose Id release, Tempted. I’m so honored Seth trusted me to tell the story of how he met sexy, sassy Lyndi Garrison. Their story took my breath away, and I hope it does yours too! So without further ado…

Brandi:

Welcome Seth! Thank you so much for dropping by. I had such a fun time telling yours and Lyndi’s story. You two made quite the pair!

Seth:

Thank you, Brandi. I’m glad to be here. I had a great time working with you while you wrote Tempted. That’s such an appropriate title, too. Lyndi was certainly one huge, sexy temptation the night we met.

Brandi:

Tell me about it! She is definitely, how shall I say it…headstrong. What do you remember most about the night you met her?

Seth:

That would have to be the incident in the shed.

Brandi:

Oh yeah! There’s nothing like a sexy rendezvous in a dark shed to get the libido pumping!

Seth:

Brandi:

Moving things to a more serious note…would you tell our readers what you were doing the night you met Lyndi?

Seth:

I was on a job for my bosses, the three Angels of Death. As a Death Worker, it was my duty to make sure deaths occurred according to my bosses’ visions and then to transport the newly released souls to the waiting area.

That night started no differently than the countless others–at least until Lyndi exploded onto the scene with her temper and potty mouth cranked to max. She drew me in without even realizing it, and I–

Brandi:

Whoa, whoa, whoa. We don’t want to give away too much, Seth.

Seth:

Sorry.

Brandi:

Well, Seth, I don’t want to keep you much longer. I know you’re busy, but before you go, can you sum up why readers will like hearing yours and Lyndi’s story, especially when there are so many great books out there?

Seth:

Easy…Lyndi. She is the most incredible woman I’ve ever known. She’s passionate. She’s funny. She’s sexy as hell. Who couldn’t fall in love with someone so vivacious and full of life?

She has dark scars in her past, but she never let tragedy rule her. Was it any wonder I was so…Tempted?

Author bio:

Brandi Evans was raised by a caravan of traveling Gypsies. She spent her days learning the ways of her people and her nights lost in legends as old as time. Okay, not really, but that’s way more interesting than the truth!

In reality, Brandi grew up the oldest child of an ordinary family. Grade school, middle school, high school. Nothing extraordinary happened until she left the nest. She joined the military, went to college, got married, and became a mom. And somewhere along the way, she discovered she liked to read—and write!—stories hot enough to melt eReaders.

The Heart Won't Forget

I thought I would join in on today’s fun and add a little excerpt from my new release coming out Monday, July 24th.  I’ve shared the blurb in a previous blog post, so without any further delay, let’s get right to the good stuff.

She sat on the couch, staring at her packed bags. Why did she agree to this? She didn’t want to go. Since Adam returned, he had been helpful, supportive, and attentive. He climbed in the bed with her the first two nights, spooning her. The third night, he explained that with her feeling better, she needed her rest, and he felt comfortable leaving her to sleep in the guest bed.

Before he left with Zach to go North on Wednesday, he became domineering and unyielding. Of course, she had the flu when he first arrived, but once she got well and returned to work on Monday, he dictated how the week would play out. He expected her to fly up to meet him and their son on Friday.

Her phone buzzed, a text message from Adam. “If you aren’t already, you need to be in the car driving to the airport if you are going to make your flight.”

She couldn’t respond. She hadn’t talked to her family in over three years. They all took it personally when they heard Adam received his first overseas assignment, a remote one in Korea, and she wanted to stay here, not move back up there.  Six months after that when Adam returned home on leave, she got pregnant. She drove across the country to share the good news with her family. The family that greeted her was a family she didn’t know, and the distance between them became greater than just the miles between them. The disillusionment of it all scarred her. Eventually, she changed her cell number and broke all contact with them.

She never even told them when she and Adam decided to divorce. She assumed they must know though, news travelled fast in their hometown.

Lost in her thoughts, she screamed when the front door flew open and a very angry Adam burst in. “Get your ass up and get in the car!”

“What are you doing here?” Backing away from him as he reached for her, she fell to her side on the couch, attempting to scurry away. She’d never seen him like this. His palm landed hard on a portion of her rear, mostly on her outer thigh due to her position. “Ouch!” He wasn’t playing. It hurt and she crawled off the couch, running over to the bar stools before she turned around and looked at him. “What’s that about? That hurt.”

He fisted his hand and released it before running it through his short light hair. “Frannie. I’m trying really hard here, but there is going to be a lot more where that came from if you don’t get your ass in the car.”

She may not recognize this man, but she liked him. Kind of. “I told you before you bought the plane ticket that I didn’t want to go. I’ll pay you back for the damn ticket.”

A big sigh passed through his lips, and his eyes narrowed. He looked like a man struggling to maintain his calm. Nothing ever rattled Adam that she could recall. “If I come over there, you will find it an achy drive and flight sitting on a blistered ass. I don’t give a fuck about the cost of the ticket! Zach is waiting for you up there. As was I.”

The seriousness in his tone and words created conflicting emotions in her. She found this new version of him sexy, yet frustrating. “I don’t know what’s gotten into you. Gonna spank me like I’m some little girrrrrrr…” So surprised and shocked by his quick move towards her, she dashed down the hallway. She didn’t really think she had a chance. He returned from Germany in excellent physical condition, obviously taking his PT seriously.

Entering her bedroom with him on her heels, she jumped on her bed attempting to get far against the wall. Not a chance. He gripped her ankle dragging her face down over the bed. Tossing up her peasant skirt, baring just a thong covered ass, he spanked her. Over and over again. The more she struggled, the quicker and harder the smacks. He didn’t quit until she sobbed with tears rolling down her face, all the fight in her gone.

Rolling her to her back, she kept her eyes closed. She didn’t want to look at him. She didn’t want him to look at her. Wiping her tears away with his hands, he cupped her face. “As much as I want to kiss you right now, it won’t be enough, so I’m not going to start something I want to take my time with.” She sniffled, and he kissed the bridge of her nose. “Go get some tissue and meet me in the car. I’ve got your bags. Hurry though, we are hurting for time now.”

Opening her eyes, he stood in front of her holding his hand out. He helped her to her feet, adjusted her skirt, and directed her to the bathroom.

In a trance, she made it to the car. Neither spoke on the drive to the airport, and since they weren’t seated together, they didn’t speak on the flights.  During the ninety minutes in Atlanta, while they waited to catch the connecting flight, she went to the restroom, and walked around the shops. She picked up a dinosaur book to read to Zach.

Landing in Minneapolis, almost six hours from when he picked her up, they retrieved their bags and walked out to his rental car. Just like someone hitting a light switch, she snapped out of her trance. Her hands shook, and she couldn’t draw in any breaths.

Dropping his bags, Adam rushed to her side before she panicked. He pulled her tight into his chest, stroking her back. “Hey, hey. I got you. It’s going to be all right. I promise. I’m here, and I’m not leaving you.” Rubbing her head, held firmly against his chest, he calmed her. “I didn’t do this to hurt you, Frannie. I’m here with you. I’ll be with you every step of the way.”

Sniffling, she lifted her head, looking into his face. “Why? Why do you want this so much?”

His blue eyes softened more. “Because we’re family. I need Zach to grow up knowing his extended family, and his mother is part of that. She needs to stop thinking it’s her against the world, and leave the past in the past.” Patting her shoulder, he stood her in front of him, rubbing his hands on her shoulders. “Don’t worry. We are crashing at my parents. Let’s just see how things go, and how we feel tomorrow.” He put his finger under her chin, lifting her eyes to meet his. “Deal?”

Looking away, she couldn’t make sense of anything. Did she enter the Twilight Zone? She knew this was Adam, but it wasn’t her Adam. “Yeah,” she replied. She supposed. Why wouldn’t she? He’s saying all the right things, and he might spank her if she doesn’t comply. Now she felt shaky for an altogether different reason. And a little flushed.

Opening the passenger door, he waited for her to get in, then put their bags in the trunk. Starting the vehicle, he grabbed her hand and squeezed it. “I wish this last part wasn’t a three-hour drive. I’m pretty beat.”

The mention of a long day for him had many questions resurface. “Yeah, how did you get back to Alabama today? And why?”

Putting the car in reverse, he backed out of the parking space. “You know why, Frannie. To make sure you got on the plane. I knew you wouldn’t come, so I got a ticket and flew down to get you.”

“You spent a lot of time and money on getting me up here for some reason.”

“Yep. I sure did.” The only response he gave, no elaboration.

Coming July 24th

The Heart Won't Forget

I loved writing this story, though I found it challenging at times to tap into the pain and fears resulting from heartbreak.

The Heart Won’t Forget the wounds it’s endured, nor the ones that inflicted them.

The Heart Won’t Forget the ones that nurtured it, providing the patience and “tough love” necessary to aid in its healing.

Blurb

Frannie thought she had life all figured out. Don’t get involved. No expectations meant no disappointments. And that’s exactly how she chose to live her life with her four-year-old son over the last three and a half years. Safe and quiet.

In a ten-day span, her safe, quiet life starts to fall apart. Corey, an ex-boyfriend, moves back in next door. He apologizes for breaking her heart, and wants another chance. He’s as good looking as ever, and their children pick up their friendship right where they left off. But Frannie can’t forget the agony she experienced when he left her.

Adam, her ex-husband and son’s father, also comes back into her life. He was her first love, and they had remained in each other’s life for their son’s sake—as friends. Now, he’s forcing her to confront the pain of her past in the hopes of ensuring a better future that includes him. He’s different than the young man she married just out of high school. He’s confident and commanding.

Frannie has a difficult, life changing decision to make. Give a relationship with Corey another try or give Adam, and their failed marriage, another try? Or, is she better off alone following her safe and quiet life plan? Which man will step up to win her heart? Which man is strong enough to convince Frannie she is safe with him?

Publisher’s Note: This emotional romance is intended for adults only and contains explicit sexual scenes, adult language, and elements of strict discipline. If any of these themes offend you, please do not purchase.
